Embrace: In the centre of the picture is a Universal egg with twin Universes wrapped around and within each other. One physical the other non physical. The Fibonacci panels left and right show the birth of these Universes and the symbols are ancient Dogon, used to explain simple ideas (!) like the creation of the Universe, reproduction and the creation of matter.
🙂 Finished my TripTych measuring 370mm X 260mm on A3 paper. It took about 120 hours and I’m really proud of the end result and a little surprised. Some Solar system data, star correlations, ancient symbolism, megaliths, paranormal activity and some sacred building blocks. ❤
(and a couple of prints!)
This picture forced its way out of my forehead over the last couple of days. Had no intention of doing anything so intricate, I just sat down to doodle. To me it represents one of my favourite places on Earth. Picture below should give it away if not the G.P.S. coordinates will. 🙂
Some originals and prints available here.
Doodling Dogon Style. Apparently Dogon cosmology says that Universes are born in pairs. One physical (hello!) and one none physical. So in ours we experience time and in theirs because they are infinitesimally small, do not experience time. They have perfect knowledge but no ability to create. Whereas we have the ability to create but imperfect knowledge. Such a cool concept. Ancient Dogon Cosmology and it’s better than our Science fiction. So it makes me wonder if all the various paranormal phenomena we experience are different kinds of interaction between a physical Universe and a non-physical Universes. Simple as that?
I also wonder if “the others” wear massive fedora hats and black capes. And all they can do is appear at the bottom of my bed and just stare.
Finished this today. “Heaven and Earth” 14th February 2015. Measures 255mm X 255mm on 180gsm A3 sized paper. ❤ Original available in my etsy store. 🙂
This is a close up of the centre piece in my lastest picture. The original is for sale if anyone would like it. 🙂 ❤
Still a work in progress, just thought I would give it a share. It’s my first attempt really at trying to do lettering along with my Art. I like to do quite abstract lettering like the symbols-looking patterns running down the centre of the pyramid. Is it obvious what it says? (turning the picture 90 degrees anti-clockwise might help) The hexagon shaped lettering at the bottom needs a bit of work. Just an experiment really. (my usual get out clause.) 🙂
